Michelle has over 12 years’ experience working in the private and public sectors covering policy and financing initiatives, influencing and shaping government policy, and sourcing financing solutions. Michelle has built up a strong policy and financing career working with major organisations including the British Bankers Association, the Department for Communities and Local Government, the University of Surrey, and the Chartered Institute of Housing. In investment and financial consultancy roles she has engaged with groups including the World Bank, the European Banking Federation, the European Commission, African Development Bank, HM Treasury, Foreign Commonwealth Office, DFID, ODI, and other UK parliamentarians and government departments.
At the British Bankers Association Michelle worked within corporate banking, with a focus on leading EU/global financing programs and SME business engagement work; representing the UK banking sector, she worked with major banks including Barclays, HSBC, Santander, Lloyds and many other smaller challenger banks to strengthen policy, and support financial stability measures and business financing arrangements for SMEs.
Previous to this Michelle worked with the professional housing group the Chartered Institute of Housing, leading housing policy initiatives and promoting housing education courses while managing stakeholder engagement activity in Africa, Asia, the USA and other markets.
